KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Soon to be Truman students and their parents took to campus in preparations for their freshmen year.

The fifth of eight orientation groups were on campus on Monday.

Around 180 students were enrolling in classes, and talked with advisors and faculty members.

Their parents were on hand touring the campus as well as learning more about the Liberal Arts program and got questions answered about any concerns they have.

A couple of incoming freshmen talked about their impressions of the day.

The staff is really helpful," said Zac Clark of Kansas City.  "All the teachers try to figure out what your interest are, like signing up for classes and all of that. I don't really know what to expect yet. I'm just excited for the whole experience."

"It's exciting to pick my schedule and getting to see new faces and people," said Valeria Toles, of St. Louis.

Each orientation has both a morning and afternoon session. One of the highlights of the day is the President of Truman welcoming the students and their parents to campus.
