A Southeast Iowa man will spend the next four years in a federal prison for manufacturing meth.

On June 1, 2012, Joseph Patrick Frank, age 34, of Lee County, Iowa, was sentenced to 48 months of imprisonment for conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine, announced United States Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt. United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also sentenced Frank to four years of supervised release.

Frank agreed with others to manufacture methamphetamine from August 2010 throughJune 2011. During the conspiracy, Frank directed co-conspirators to provide him with pseudoephedrine, Coleman fuel, lithium strips, and sulfuric acid to assist in his manufacture of methamphetamine. User amounts of methamphetamine were found to have been manufactured on multiple occasions over the course of the conspiracy.

The case was investigated by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force and the United States

Drug Enforcement Administration, and was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
