NEW CAMBRIA, MISSOURI -- A northeast Missouri man died in a logging accident Friday in Macon County. Michael Brown, 39, of Arbela, Missouri died in the accident.

According to the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, they were called to a report of a man seriously injured while logging near New Cambria, in western Macon County. EMS responders were treating the victim when deputies arrived. The victim was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Macon, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.

Deputies say Brown was killed when he was hit in the head by a limb from a tree falling nearby. He was employed by the Tri-State Timber Company of Arbela.
