AGENCY, IOWA -- Wapello County Sheriff Don Kirkendall released the name of the victim involved in Saturday’s death investigation. The victim identified is 23 year-old Lisa Techel of Agency, Iowa.

The Sheriff’s Office said they received a 911 call for help at 5:23 a.m. Saturday, stating a person may have been shot.

The incident happened in the 8700 block of Fox Hills Road southwest of Agency

Techel is the daughter of a Wapello County Deputy. She also was a reserve deputy with Wapello County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sunday, an autopsy was conducted at the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny, Iowa. The results are still pending and the death investigation is ongoing.

5/27/12 PRESS RELEASE FROM WAPELLO COUNTY SHERIFF DON KIRKENDALL

Press Release

            On May 26, 2012 at 5:23 a.m. the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) received a 911 report of an individual that had possibly been shot. The incident happened in the 8700 block of Fox Hills Road, Southwest of Agency. The WCSO and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are conducting a death investigation at this time.

The victim has been identified as 23 year old Lisa Techel of Agency, IA. Techel is the daughter of a Wapello County Deputy and was employed as a jailer at the Washington County Jail. Additionally, Techel was a reserve deputy with Wapello County Sheriff’s Office.

On May 27, 2012 an autopsy was conducted at the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny, IA. Autopsy results are pending and the death investigation is ongoing.

There will be no press conference today.
