Davis County High School Principal Jeff Graves spoke to the graduating class of 2012 and introduced this year’s valedictorian, Megan Crady. Crady delivered an inspiring speech to her peers.

A member of the Davis County School Board for six years and an employee at Cargill in Eddyville for almost 26 years, Rod Lynch was this year’s commencement speaker.

“Though I think it's important to realize that not every plan, not every dream will work out -- and what’s important is to have and remember to have the attitude, the courage and the passion to prop yourself up and just keep pushing forward until you can find happiness. Class of 2012: congratulations and thank you,” said Lynch to the graduating class.

Several area schools also held commencement Sunday including Cardinal, Pekin, Eddyville-Blakesburg, Van Buren, Moravia and Centerville.
