KIRKSVILLE, MO -- For the class of 2012 Truman gradautes, their outlook in breaking into the job market is much higher than in recent years.
As 2008 was a struggle for many graduates wanting to enter the job force due to the economy, for the most recent class of the graduates, their future seems much brighter.
There's been proof of that on campus where just a few year's ago fewer businesses where coming to campus because jobs weren't available, but as of late that has started to change.
"Our numbers have been steadily increasing, so we're kind of basing it on that," said Katie Vanderhoof, the career coordinator. "Yes, the job market is improving because they're making the effort to come back here and hire recent grads."
The increased internships Truman students have been receiving also leads Vanderhoof to believe the job market is picking up steam for new graduates.
However, she adds the average amount of time to secure a position is around six months.
