OTTUMWA, IOWA -- On Sunday, hundreds gathered at Ottumwa's Bridge View Center to celebrate Mother's Day.
More than 300 people gathered at the event center, all wanting to thank mom for being mom.
There were a variety of entrees and desserts to choose from.
KTVO caught up with some of the moms and their children and asked them what this special day means to them.
“Just the rewards of watching them grow up and become successful,” said Liz Schiller.
“I love that my mom is supportive even when she doesn't want to be –plain and simple,” said Charlie Schiller
“She’s very sweet and as you can see we both resemble each other. In fact, people tell us that when they call our home and one of us answers they can't distinguish who it is,” said Diane Gawronski.
Executive Director Larry Gawronski was thrilled with the turnout and said this was the first year that the center had hosted the Mother’s Day brunch.
