KEOSAUQUA, IOWA -- This weekend was dedicated to the ladies at the first annual Ladies Only Expo held at the Roberts Memorial Center in Keosauqua.
The expo started Friday evening and ran through Sunday afternoon. Local venders, as well as some from Missouri, were selling everything from jewelry and purses to wine.
Hundreds of women attended the expo throughout the weekend which was put on by the Villages of Van Buren.
“We were trying to think of a new event, something different to of course bring more people to the Villages of Van Buren and the thought actually started as a jewelry show and then it evolved into this. Because we had so much interest from our vendors selling the purses and cosmetics, we expanded it to an entire Ladies Only Expo and it's just been fabulous,” said Stacey Reese, the executive director of Villages of Van Buren.
The women also got to enjoy a fashion show displaying the latest spring and summer fashion.
Because of the great turnout, Reese said that the Ladies Only Expo will certainly happen again next year.
