KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Kirksville High School students are all dazzled up Saturday as they head to the Junior - Senior Prom.
More than 200 couples attended. The Grand March was held at the Kirksville Primary School. Friends and family members packed the gym, all trying to get a picture of their loved one headed off to the big dance.
The theme in 2012 is "Lanterns in the moonlight." Grace Sexton was crowned Prom Queen, and Nathaniel Holte was crowned Prom King.
Many of the couples said the entire affair hasn't been that stressful and they're looking forward to dancing the night away.
"Oh it's really fun. A lot of dresses, a lot of heels, a lot of nails. Flowers," said Shelby Hubbard, a Kirksville High School Senior.
Staff members said this is one of the largest Proms Kirksville has seen in a long time. The dance lasted until midnight. After the dance, the couples headed to the Middle School for After-Prom, which lasted until in 4 a.m. Sunday morning.
