Police arrested Jared Sharp, 21, of Kirksville, MO, in connection with the alleged domestic abuse of a woman. The woman told the police she and Sharp were returning from Walmart, and they began arguing about Easter candy, and the argument turned serious.
Officers were dispatched to the house on a report of a male subject dragging a female into the home. When the officer arrived, two young children were sitting on the couch crying.
The victim said when they got home Sharp got out of the front passenger side of the door and slammed it shut, causing the window to break. The woman said she became frightened and drove away with her two young cousins, ages 5 and 6, in the car.
The victim told police Sharp grabbed the door of the car and would not let go. She eventually stopped and let Sharp in. He then reportedly ordered her to drive home.
Once they arrived back at the residence, the victim said Sharp grabbed her hair and forced her into the home. She said once inside he threw her on the kitchen floor and began punching her legs.
The woman said he then forced her into the bedroom and then threw her onto the bed, choking her with one hand and striking her with his fist.
Sharp is charged with 2nd-degree domestic assault, a class C felony.
