Milan man dies after running stop sign, hitting embankment

NEAR LUCERNE, MO. -- A northeast Missouri man is dead as the result of a one-vehicle crash in Putnam County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Wayne Marsh, 70, of Milan was killed when he was driving northbound on Highway 139 and failed to stop at a stop sign.

Marsh’s truck then crossed Highway 136, east of Lucerne, and struck an embankment.

Marsh was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened just after 9:30 p.m. Monday.
