OTTUMWA, IOWA -- After the scandal in New York that revealed students were cheating on college entrance exams, the College Board released new standards and security rules for kids taking the SAT.

Starting in the 2012-2013 school year, registration and test day enhancements will be put in place to create a fair and honest testing environment for all students.

Students must provide a recent, recognizable photo during registration for a new photo admission ticket. Walk-in testing will no longer be permitted and there will be random ID checks throughout the day, along with several other measures.

"Part of the motivation to this is a lot of pressure on seniors and juniors any more to really compete, not just within Iowa or the region but they're competing globally for these slots," Dr. Davis Eidahl said.

Eidahl said he doesn't believe the new standards will put any more pressure or be any extra hassle on students, as long as they have a school ID at registration and sign up in advance.
