Accused Sonic robber being held without bond

OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Ottumwa Police Chief Jim Clark informed KTVO on Thursday that an arrest has been made concerning the armed robbery that took place at the Sonic Restaurant on Monday.

According to Chief Clark, the suspect that robbed the carhop at gunpoint took an undisclosed amount of money and then fled the scene on foot.

On Thursday, March 15th, Ottumwa Police arrested Bruce Darnell Pollard, 24, of Ottumwa for the crime.

Pollard was arrested and charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree in violation of Chapter 711.2 of the Iowa Code. According to Chief Clark, the charge is a Class "B" Felony.

Pollard is no stranger to the Wapello County Jail. Just recently Pollard was arrested for burglarizing the Appanoose Rapids Brewing Company in downtown Ottumwa.

Pollard is being held without bond in the Wapello County Jail.
