KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A local economic development group and some other organizations are settling into a new home.

Kirksville's former TCRC building at the corner of Franklin and Pierce streets now houses Kirksville Regional Economic Development, Inc. (K-REDI), the Kirksville Downtown Improvement Committee, the Small Business Technology and Development Center and the Innovation Center.

The organizations moved in at the beginning of February.

They are collectively referred to as the Economic Development Alliance.

"We feel that right now we have a one-stop shop for economic development. If you have an idea, if you want to start a business, anything like that, you can come to this building and we will find someone there (who) can help you and (point) you in the right direction," said Carolyn Chrisman, K-REDI Director of Job Creation.

Chrisman told KTVO the City of Kirksville donates the space, so K-REDI doesn't have to pay rent or utilities.

An open house is tentatively planned for April 12.

Chrisman says one of the best things about the new location is that it makes the organizations more visible to the community.

The K-REDI office was previously located on the 2nd floor of Kirksville City Hall.

The TCRC closed last year after the state pulled funding it needed to operate.
