BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- Sentencing of a Bloomfield man who escaped from the Davis County Jail last October has been delayed.

Kelly Joe Shiltz has entered guilty pleas on several charges and was scheduled to be sentenced this week.

However, that sentencing has been continued by the court, and Shiltz will now be sentenced on March 23 at 10 a.m. at the Davis County Courthouse.

Shiltz was arrested on numerous counts, including felony burglary and robbery charges, in September 2011. Police caught Shiltz not long after his escape from the jail's exercise pin at an intersection south of Bloomfield.

Shiltz was handed a slew of new charges after the incident, including escape and criminal mischief.
