Crews investigate a house fire south of Moravia.

MORAVIA, IOWA -- The Appanoose County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that two bodies were recovered Wednesday from the remains of a home that burnt down south of Moravia late Tuesday evening.
Sheriff Gary Anderson released this video Wednesday evening of the house fire.
Sheriff Anderson told KTVO they received a 911 call just after 10:00 p.m. Tuesday night, reporting the fire, and that it was believed the residents were still inside the home. The house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, preventing them from entering to search for occupants. At first the fire was reported as an explosion, but that has since been retracted.
A husband and wife, who were renting the home, were last seen about an hour earlier returning to the home. The names of the victims have not been released at this time.
KTVO spoke with Kyle Gorsch, who is with the Iowa State Fire Marshal's Office, Wednesday afternoon. Gorsch told KTVO that no new information has been released to the public regarding the fire or the investigation; and that the cause of the fire still has not been determined.
