KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A local teenager is hospitalized after police say he intentionally rammed his vehicle into a parked semi in the Kirksville Walmart parking lot.

It happened just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators said the minivan was driven by Morgan McAfee, 16, of Kirksville.

Police say McAfee traveled at a high rate of speed across the parking lot and slammed head-on into a parked semi.

Emergency crews had to cut McAfee free from the wreckage.

He was taken by ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment of serious leg injuries.

No one was in the semi at the time of the incident.

The truck is owned by McNay Truck Line of Quincy, Ill.
