BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- Students from Davis County High School have been hard at work, creating, making and decorating bowls for the Empty Bowl Soup Supper that will take place in the coming weeks.

The nationwide grass-roots program is an effort to raise money for people in Haiti. Both the foods and art classes are raising the money to fight world hunger.

“It’s just a small community and a small town doing a big favor for a lot of people that don’t have homes or food to eat,” said Faith, a Davis County High School student.

“The realize that someone is trying to make a difference for them and it really does help even though it is just a little bowl,” said Kelly, a Davis County High School student.

The soup supper is open to the public. The event takes place March 13th at the Methodist Church in Bloomfield, Iowa at 6:00 p.m. For more information, contact Davis County High School at 641-664-2200, extension 2.
