Rural home in Wapello County catches fire

WAPELLO COUNTY, IOWA -- A home in rural Wapello County caught fire Wednesday afternoon on Bladensburg Road, just northeast of Ottumwa.

When KTVO arrived on the scene, firefighters from the Wapello County Rural Fire Department, Agency Fire Department, Hendrick Fire Department and Ottumwa Fire Department were fighting the fire.

KTVO spoke Wednesday evening with Wapello County Rural Fire Chief Wes Woten.

Woten informed KTVO that the home is owned by Joe Parker and is damaged considerably. The fire is currently under investigation and the state fire marshal will be on-scene investigating the cause of fire on Thursday.

No injuries were reported.
