KEOKUK, IOWA -- A search warrant issued in Keokuk leads to a shake and bake meth operation and to the arrest of four.
Kathy Sue Crowell, 56, Shawn Michael Stark, 25, Christen Mitchell Stark, 26, and Chad Lawrence Stark, 21, all of Keokuk, Iowa were arrested Thursday on felony and misdemeanor drug charges. Each is charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture More Than Five Grams of Methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a city park (five year enhancement) and in the presence of a minor (five year enhancement), a Class B felony, and Maintaining a Drug House, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.
If convicted, each faces up to thirty-seven years in a state correctional facility.
Shawn Stark is also charged with Child Endangerment, a D felony. If convicted he faces up to an additional five years in a state correctional facility.
The Keokuk Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Sheriff’s Reserve Unit, Iowa State Patrol, Ft. Madison Prison K9 Unit and Lee County Attorney’s Office assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.
