BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- A Missouri man is dead after a one-car accident on Highway 2 in Davis County.

Davis County Sheriff Dave Davis says that his office received a 9-1-1 around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday from a motorist who reported a car in the ditch 12 miles west of Bloomfield.

When emergency responders arrived on the scene, they found a 2003 Ford Ranger overturned in a ditch.

The Jaws of Life were used to extract 60-year old Russell Lee Lasley, of Glenwood, Missouri from the vehicle.

Lasley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Davis believes that Lasley lost control of his vehicle on a snow packed section of the highway.
