KIRKSVILLE, MO -- During Wednesday's Kirksville Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting, a public hearing was conducted at City Hall concerning the re-zoning of the property on the corner of Baltimore and Jefferson streets.

The area may be replaced with a new Express Mart. Members of the Commission voted on whether to change the area from a Planned Office Zoning Area to a Planned Extensive Business Zoning Area. This would allow for the construction of the convenience store to take place.

The Commission approved the re-zoning Wednesday and are forwarding their recommendations to the city council. The city council will meet again on Jan. 23, and are expected to make their decision on the re-zoning at that time.
