KIRKSVILLE,MO. -- Goodbye 2011! Hello 2012!

The New Year is almost here and it's time to think about the safety of your house guests and yourself on New Year's Eve.

Here are some helpful tips on hosting a party.

Always plan the night ahead by naming a designated driver. This is your responsibility as host.

Make sure to have different choices of beverages that includes non-alcoholic drinks.

Try to stop serving alcohol to your guests several hours before the party ends.

There will be several who do drink a little too much. Make sure they have a place to stay overnight if they do get a little bit tipsy.

If you are going out for the New Year follow these tips.

The most important rule. DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE! Remember buzzed is drunk.

If you do plan to drink, plan to have a ride to take you from the bar scene to your home safely.

D&D Taxicab Service will be running their usual fleet on Saturday night. They will also add a car for New Year's Eve. If you would like a ride call 660-665-4181.

You can also contact Adair Central Cab Company at 660-665-9884.

Make it a safe holiday season!
