The City of Kirksville's Public Works Department is offering a free way for residents to dispose of their Christmas trees. Residents can drop off their Christmas trees at the city parking lot behind the movie theater at the corner of Main and Missouri streets.

The city asks that residents leave the trees in the marked area of the parking lot. Also, they urge residents to remove all ornaments, tinsils, and hooks, so that the trees can be recycled properly. They will accept the trees thru Jan. 8. If you have questions, you can call Public Works at (660) 627-1291.

The City of Ottumwa will collect live trees every Tuesday in January starting on Jan. 5. The city is asking you to leave your tree on the curb without any ornaments.  Artificial trees can be placed in your trash cart. If it doesn't fit, you can call Bridge City sanitation  to schedule a bulky item pick-up.
