KIRKSVILLE, MO -- It's five days left before Christmas, and the rush is on to get those gifts out in time.

KTVO went out to the Kirksville post office to find people in steady lines waiting patiently to be helped by postal clerks to send out their packages and christmas cards.

The Postal Service wants to make sure that your gifts are mailed in time for your family and friends to enjoy for the holidays.

Tuesday was the last day to send out mail by first class to ensure your mail arrives at its final destination by Christmas Eve.

Wednesday will be the deadline to send your mail out by priority and December 22nd is the deadline to send gifts out by express mail.

If you want more information on how to prepare your mail for the holiday rush, contact your local post office.
