KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The company that handles the city of Kirksville’s trash collection would like to get out of the trash business.

Veolia Environmental Services, North America CEO Richard Burke, says Veolia’s parent company would like to get out of the solid waste business. The company is actively seeking an appropriate buyer for Veolia ES Solid Waste Incorporated. In the meantime Burke says the company will continue business as usual.

Kirksville City Manager Mari Macomber told KTVO Monday, at this time she doesn't anticipate the possible sale having any effect on the cities current trash collection contract with Veolia, adding, for right now it's still business as usual.
