FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- A community organization wants residents to make informed decisions when it comes to CAFOs.
Jefferson County Farmers and Neighbors (JFAN) have been handing out literature to people living within two miles of proposed expansions to two facilities in the county. The buildings reside in Penn and Walnut townships.
Executive director Diane Rosenberg says she hopes information provided by JFAN will help the discussion.
"We want people to make an informed decision,” Rosenberg said.
JFAN does not take a stance as for one way or the other.
“Our whole goal is to present a lot of impartial objective information so that people can decide for themselves if they want to pursue any action or not.”
