Ottumwa woman competes on Jeopardy

One of the heartland's own competed on a major network show for money.

You may have seen on KTVO ABC 3.1 early Friday afternoon on Jeopardy as 28-year-old Mellissa Ahmed of Ottumwa went on the show testing her skills out playing while at the same time winning some cash.

There were categories such as poem types, broadway musicals, and U.S. landscapes.

Despite her effort, Mellissa came in in third place. but she didn't go home empty handed. She won $1,000.

Mellissa is a graduate from the University of Iowa with a degree in Chinese and Religion Studies.
