OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Members of the Ottumwa Fire Department got up early Saturday morning to raise money for MDA.
Tents were set up in the parking lot of O'Hara Hardware for the fundraising event which was billed as a chili cook-off.

There were many different kinds of chili, ranging from pulled pork to beef. All of the chili's had a different kick to them, being that they were all made with different spices.
KTVO spoke with Ottumwa Firefighter Kevin Hatfield about the cook-off.
"Well, I started last night. I smoked the pork for 12 hours and today. We started at 8 and heated everything back up and it's ready now. I'm sure that I will get first place. This is a great cause, everyone should come out and support this great cause," said Hatfield
For those that couldn't make it to the cook-off Saturday, donations can be made to MDA through the Ottumwa Fire Department at the main fire station.
