KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The November firearms season is only a few weeks away and the Missouri Department of Conservation is reminding hunters of new changes to deer and turkey permits and tagging procedures.

Hunters can now visit the Missouri Department of Convervation(MDC) website and buy and print their permits and use them immediately. Hunters may use this new method or continue to purchase them in person at the MDC Regional Office, nature centers or other state offices.

However, Adair County Conservation Agent Marsha Jones says eventually, you will only be able to buy permits online. "We are changing the way we sell permits and that system will be phased out by July 2013 and we will be going strictly to e-permits. Facilities at that time will have computers and printers set up for you to do that," Jones said.

The November deer hunting season starts on November 12 and will run until November 22.
