KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI -- A northeast Missouri man is jailed on a felony charge, following an altercation with a Kirksville police officer.

Dustin Sizemore, 28, of Brashear is charged with a felony count of assault on a law enforcement officer and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.

According to court papers, two Kirksville officers responded to a report of a fight outside a downtown Kirksville bar just after midnight Thursday morning. Sizemore allegedly attempted to hit an officer with a closed fist. While police attempted to take Sizemore into custody, police say he kicked an officer in the knee, causing the knee to buckle. Sizemore was then arrested by the other officer.

Sizemore is currently being held in the Adair County Jail, under a $25,000 cash only bond.
