MACON, MISSOURI -- Residents in Macon started getting ready early Friday afternoon for the evening football matchup against the Palmyra panthers.
The celebration started on the square at 3 p.m. as residents gathered for the homecoming parade.
The school district has been celebrating homecoming the entire week as the Tigers prepared for another win to add to their undefeated season.
The 2011 Homecoming queen was senior Emma McDowell.
Many of the kids and parents were excited for the parade and the game.
"It's pretty cool and I like whenever they hand out candy," said Winter Hayden, a kindergartener from Macon. "I got mints and I got some tootsie rolls."
"This is going be the year that they're going to go all the way,even on past state, " said Kristin Enyard, a Macon resident and mother of stand out player Andre Reynolds, who is out this year with a knee injury.
The football game starts at 7 p.m. Afterwards, high school students will dance the night away at the annual homecoming dance.
