KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI -- If you're looking for employment or extra work, it's time to dig out and refresh your resume because the NEMO Job Fair is coming to Kirksville Oct. 4.

The bi-annual event is being held during the day from 11 to 4 p.m. at the NEMO Fairgrounds.

There will be 43 companies there, offering jobs in many different fields including healthcare, retail, communications, production and government. The companies will also be looking for people with high school diplomas to college degrees.

For the first time in awhile, several trucking companies will also be present.

The Director of the Missouri Career Center in Kirksville said the job fair is a great way to fill a need for local companies and residents who are facing unemployment.

"Well, right now with the economy the way it is, it's important to help our job seekers out there along with our businesses and match the two together, " said Cathy Collop.

"Right now, it's a very important and critical for individuals to keep their jobs and get jobs as they're needed."

Collop said that attendees need to come with polished, updated resumes because there's a chance they could get interviewed and hired on the spot.

"People need to be prepared, be ready for an interview, come dressed, come alone because a lot of people bring their kids and that's really not the proper way to do that."

If you are unable to attend the job fair, Collop said you can visit the Missouri Career Center office in Kirksville. They will have applications from some of the companies present at the job fair.
