MACON, MO --
The suspect caught during Tuesday's manhunt in Macon now faces formal charges.
Jimmy Hilt, 25, of Independence, Missouri, is facing four charges, including three felonies, in connection with a break-in that was interrupted by Macon police.
Hilt is charged with felony counts of attempted stealing, tampering with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest in a felony case, and a misdemeanor count of trespassing in connection with Tuesday's incident at Rock Hill Mechanical Corporation in Macon.
Hilt is being held for Macon County authorities in the Randolph County Jail.
His bond is set at $50,000 cash only.
Hilt is scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday in a Macon County courtroom.
The second suspect is still on the loose.
Police believe the man has fled the Macon area, and have leads that he is in the Kansas City area.
The suspect is described as about six feet tall and weighing between 230 and 250 pounds.
“Not sure how he managed to escape the perimeter but unfortunately he was able to do that and get away from the officers yesterday and we're still looking into getting him positively identified but we're looking at several different leads that we have received and want to thank the community and everybody for those leads,” said Macon Police Chief Steve Olinger.
The investigation and search for the missing suspect is ongoing.
Olinger says several agencies are helping in the case.
Authorities believe the series of thefts at Rock Hill Mechanical Corporation over the past several months are related.
