IOWA CITY, IOWA (AP) --
An employee at an Iowa City hospital faces charges for allegedly taking pain medication intended for patients.
A court report cited by the Cedar Rapids Gazette says 41-year-old Lisa Jones, of Parnell, took one Oxycodone tablet from each of two patients' automated medication dispensers at Mercy hospital in October 2008 and didn't document the removal in patient records.
Further investigation showed 73 medication discrepancies not properly documented in February and March 2008.
Johnson was being held Sunday by the state Department of Corrections. She faces charges of prohibited acts involving a
controlled substance.
Her attorney wasn't listed in online court records.
Mercy officials declined to comment to the newspaper Sunday on the status of Jones' employment.
