Heartland man faces weapons charge

KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI -- A Heartland man is facing felony charges in connection with an alleged incident in Putnam County. 

Kenneth Morris, 60, of Kirksville is charged with attempted first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. 

According to court papers, Morris was at the Worthington, Missouri address of an acquaintance, when he demanded money. 

At that point, Morris allegedly pulled a gun on the victim and put it to the victim's head. 

Morris has been released on bond. 

His first court appearance is set for September 13 in a Putnam County courtroom.
