Gov. Jay Nixon takes part in a ribbon cutting of a new street named in his honor
MACON, MO -- Missouri Governor Jay Nixon made a special appearance in Macon.
He took part in a ribbon cutting of a new street named in his honor, "Nixon Industrial Boulevard."
The state of Missouri authorized an economic incentive package that included a $620,000 Community Development Block Grant for infrastructure. In addition to $136,000 in Enhanced Enterprise Zone tax credits to three companies.
These three companies are Wyatt Enterprises, Yutz Agri Systems and Economy Products. Wyatt Enterprises assembles and manufactures custom farm equipment. Yutz Agri Systems is a manufacturer of grain elevators and grain bins. Economy Products is a tool and die shop that specializes in nuts and bolts.
Governor Nixon announced the creation of 62 new jobs within these three companies. The companies are making a combined capital investment of $2.5 million into the local economy.
Governor Nixon says, "I think there are great opportunities here. It's an honor to have my name on it...I think the community coming together and focusing on job creation means a lot."
