KIRKSVILLE, MO -- An overnight crash in Kirksville left a big mess on the highway.

It happened just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday at Benton Way and Highway 63 on the north end of town.

Authorities on scene say a pickup hauling a flatbed trailer was turning right on Benton Way when it was rear-ended by a car.

The owners of the flatbed trailer were in the process of moving and the trailer was piled high with their possessions, which spilled out all over the road.

The front end of the car was completely destroyed, but everyone escaped injury.

Authorities say the trailer did have lights.
