MILLARD, MO. -- Several different fire departments responded to a house fire near 121 Reed Street in Millard on Friday Morning.

When fire crews from La Plata, Kirksville and Brashear arrived, smoke could be seen come out of the home. There were reports of children possibly inside at the time of the fire, but once inside, it was was determined no one was home.

It took crews about 5 minutes to get the flames under control.

Luckily, no one was injured and the home suffered smoke damage on the inside and out.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation but fire crews say it does not look suspicious.
