Woman pleads in assault case

A Greentop woman facing three felony counts, enters a guilty plea to one of the counts in a Schuyler County courtroom. 

Alissa McElroy, 29, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a felony count of second degree assault, two charges of first degree assault were dismissed. Judge Gary Dial ordered a sentence assessment report. 

According to court papers, the incident that led to the charges happened last August at the Downing fairgrounds. It was alleged that McElroy drove her car into a group of people injuring several people, one seriously. 

McElroy is scheduled to be sentenced in October in Schuyler County Circuit Court.
