OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Focus groups and the Ottumwa Board of Education will meet with three finalists on Thursday in their search for Ottumwa’s next superintendent.
Finalists were selected during Monday’s board meeting. Finalists include:
Davis Eidahl currently serves as Ottumwa’s Associate Superintendent since 2008. He was the principal of Evans Middle School for four years prior, principal of Pickwick Elementary from 2003-04, elementary principal at Davis County from 1999-2003, and middle school associate principal from 1998-99. Eidahl earned his Ed.D in 2011 in Educational Leadership from Drake University, an Ed.S in Educational Leadership from Drake in 2002, his Masters in Administration in 1999 and his BA in K-12 Physical Education from Coe College.
Anne Lundquist is a Principle Consultant and Associate Director for Mid-Continent Research for Education and Learning (McREL) in Denver, Colorado. She has served in her current position since 2007. She was the Education Services Director for AEA267 in Cedar Falls from 2001-2007 and an Elementary Principal and District Special Education Coordinator from 1999-2001 at Clarke Community School District. She also served as an assistant elementary principal and district special education coordinator from 1996-99 at Clarke. She earned an Ed.D in Educational Leadership from Drake University, a Ed.S in Curriculum and Instruction from Drake, a Masters in Education and Art Education from Drake, and a BA in Elementary Education and Art from Graceland College.
Fred Maharry is Superintendent of the Alta Community School District where he has served for the past two years. Previously, he was Superintendent/Elementary Principal for Delwood Community Schools from 1995-2000. He also served as a middle school principal at Harlan, Cedar Rapids, Esterville and was an elementary principal at Collins-Maxwell. He has a Ed.D. in Education Administration from Drake, Ed.S in Education Administration from Drake, a Masters in Elementary Administration and a BS in English from Northwest Missouri State University.
Former Superintendent Jon Sheldahl recently accepted the chief administrator position at Great Prairie Area Education Agency. His last day with the district was July 15. The Board will make a hiring decision in early August.
