KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Hospice of Northeast Missouri has announced they have reached that goal, just 6 weeks after launching a massive fundraising effort to raise one mile of quarters.

Terrill Roberts, Campaign Chair said “As of Friday morning, July 22th, our total amount of donations not only met, but exceeded our mile goal.”  All in all, the organization raised 64,105 quarters which totals over $16,000.

Stephanie Byrum, Executive Director stated “It is a true testament to how generously giving the people in our community are.”  The fundraising campaign was made available in all eleven counties across northeast Missouri that the agency serves.

Hospice of Northeast Missouri is a non-profit organization that cares for individuals living with a life-limiting illness and their families.  Donations such as those raised by the quarter mile campaign are used to provide patient care supplies such as comfort medications, equipment, supplies, and frequent home visits by professional staff.  In addition, donated funds help the organization provide services to those who are under or non-insured.
