OTTUMWA, IOWA -- The Wapello County 4-H Expo continued Saturday with events and activities for everyone.
The expo was at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa. There were several shows and exhibits featured; including a car, cattle, dog and cat show. There was also a grill out, games and rides, as well as music in the evening.
Another informative event was the health fair which was all day. Organizers say the attendance was great all week long, but Saturday was by far the busiest. It was free to the public.
Wapello County Youth Coordinator Gina Martin said that its important to let children get up close with farm animals.
"Its a great place for kids to interact with some animals. When you live in the city you don't get exposed to a lot of the farm animals. The 4-H project and the exhibit hall are amazing. The health information that is available going on at the health fair. And we're going to have some great food."
