BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- Davis County has received over 10 inches of rain in the past month. Many residents in the county have had to deal with flooding issues not only on their property, but on the county roads as well.

On Monday, first responders had to rescue six people in two separate incidents after their vehicles got stuck in high flood waters.

KTVO spoke with Davis County Supervisor Dale Taylor Tuesday; Taylor said that even though the weather has been bad, the county has everything under control.

“When you have a state of emergency that is when things get out of hand; for example, you can’t afford to fix what damage there is. In this case, I am thinking we can’t holler wolf every time it rains. I know four inches of rain is going to create a lot of problems. We’ve had roads that have been covered up and some have been washed out. We’ve got some problems, but I think we can live with them,” said Taylor.

Supervisor Taylor put things into perspective when he noted what western Iowa is dealing with currently.

“There are people that are dealing with 10 feet of water covering their homes,” said Taylor.
