JOPLIN, MO (AP) --
Survivors of the Joplin tornado are remembering members of the close-knit community who were lost when the savage storm struck the town two weeks ago.
At least 138 people died. More than 50 of them were 65 or older. The 13 children who died included two pairs of siblings and five children who perished alongside a parent.
Several victims worked at stores like Home Depot and Walmart in the city's primary commercial corridor. They include 59-year-old Dean Wells, a Home Depot department head who helped save dozens of customers but died when a wall collapsed on him at the store.
Wells and Pizza Hut manager Christopher Lucas were honored during President Barack Obama's visit a week after the storm.
