LANCASTER, MO. -- Interested groups or individuals have until June 1st to bid to operate the License Office in Lancaster, Mo. That information comes from the Missouri Department of Revenue.
This is the second request that the department has issued for bids on the Lancaster office since the previous agent, Lisa Kephart, resigned from her post in March. The first request issued for the office resulted in no responses.
Local license office management contracts are now part of a competitive process that requires the Missouri Department of Revenue to select office agents presenting the best proposals for customer service and financial efficiency. Common transactions that take place at local license offices include renewing or applying for a driver license, renewing or applying for registration on motor vehicles, boats and outboard motors, and applying for titles and paying sales taxes on these units.
The Lancaster office is the sole license office in Schuyler County. However, citizens living in the Schuyler County area have several other offices where they can conduct license office transactions. These offices, their addresses, telephone numbers and hours of operation are:
Kirksville – 112 E. Washington St., (660) 665-0292, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. (Closed for lunch 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.)
Memphis – 338 S. Clay St., Suite B, (660) 465-7373, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. (Closed for lunch noon to 1 p.m. each day.)
Unionville – 1507 Main St., (660) 947-3621, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. (Closed for lunch noon to 1 p.m. each day.)
