BURLINGTON, IOWA -- The City of Burlington is facing another case of a church being intentionally set aflame.

A fire that damaged a church in Burlington has been ruled arson. Fire caused about $100,000 damage to Union Baptist Church early Saturday. Fire and smoke was seen coming from the building when fire crews arrived.

The Hawk Eye newspaper reported Tuesday that federal, state and local authorities are participating in the investigation. Awards totaling $3,500 are being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the case.

IN 2007,  two Burlington churches, First Presbyterian and First Methodist were set on fire.

In 2008, Kevin Michael Ravelin, 29, of Burlington, pleaded guilty to numerous charges related to those fires in Federal Court. He was sentenced to thirty-five years in prison.
