Brashear Concert Band receives superior rating

BRASHEAR, MISSOURI (AP) -- The Brashear Concert Band (7th through 12th grade) performed at that MSHSAA State Large Ensemble Festival on Saturday, March 26 at Hannibal LaGrange College.  The band received a 1 Rating of Superior.

The band played Contredanse by Larry Clark and In the Shining of the Stars by Robert Sheldon.

The Brashear Concert Band is the only Class 1 school band from the Northeast Missouri District to receive a 1 Superior rating.  It is also the only band  to receive such a rating that includes 7th and 8th graders.

The Brashear Concert Band will be competing in the Festivals of Music competition in St. Louis on April 16 and performing at their annual Spring Concert on May 12 at 7:00pm.  Everyone is invited to attend the free concert.
