KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Ameren Missouri is helping customers better understand their energy usage within their households. This is the second year that Ameren Missouri is sending out Personal Energy Reports. They are designed to summarize the previous two years of electricity use to help customers understand where they spend the most.
“If you want to take some steps to control energy costs, because all of the energy forms are going up in price, you’ve got to know what you were doing already” said Ameren Missouri Customer Service Representative Annette Sweet. “Then you can go from there because you can’t tell if you’ve made progress if you can’t see what you paid for in the past.”
The personal energy report presents customers usage in a number of different ways to help make it more useful. This includes depicting energy usage on a graph as well as seeing how much you paid each day during the previous 12 months.
“It’s been really helpful to a lot of people and sometimes they’re surprised” Sweet said. “Sometime good and bad; sometimes they can look back and say, oh that wasn’t so bad or that doesn’t cost so much. On the other hand I think if you didn’t know how much you’re using now, how can you tell if you’re saving anything?”
Starting this year, Ameren Missouri will be expanded the energy usage report to small business as well.
All personal energy reports are expected to be in the mail by the end of March.
