KIRKSVILLE, MO --
"Hunger is no blarney" according to The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri.
In honor of St. Patrick's Day, the food bank will hold a drive Thursday at the Kirksville Wal-Mart from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Board members hope this food drive will be an annual St. Patty's tradition.
“There are only 2200 people in Adair County that need food everyday and so this is just one way that we here in Kirksville can help to collect food and all this food collected, all the money collected, stays right here to support Adair county people,” said John Rowe, Board Member.
Monetary donations will also be accepted. For every dollar donated, the food bank can buy 17 pounds of food.
There'll even be a six foot leprechaun that you can get your picture taken with when you drop off a donation.
All of the donations will stay local.
